ESA Pet Matters started with a frustration our founder, a licensed therapist, kept hearing from her own clients — over and over again.

They'd ask. They'd search. And what they found was confusing at best, predatory at worst. Sites promising an ESA letter in minutes, no real evaluation required. "Registries" that don't legally exist. Documents that looked official but wouldn't survive a landlord's first phone call to verify them. Client after client came to her stressed, frustrated, and genuinely afraid — not about their mental health, but about whether they'd be allowed to keep the one thing that was actually helping them get through it.

She watched people who legitimately needed an ESA get tangled in a system built to extract a payment, not provide real care. And she knew it didn't have to be that way.
